How to strategically transform your organization into an effective and efficient operation.

Is your team failing to produce deliverables on time? Is your team not performing to the standard that has been requested? And/or Is your team not taking initiative in their work?
The solution is not as straightforward as with anything in life. Perhaps you may have decided that a poor employee should be let go as a result of poor performance, maybe you think that would possibly push others in the company to work harder? Below is a flowchart that should give you an idea to determine if it is you or a person in the team who may be contributing to a lower performance.

The fault for metrics such as Declining revenue, negative profit margins, high debit-to-equity ratios, low ROI, decreased market share, high employee turnover rates, low cash flow, high customer churn rate, low employee morale, weak brand perception, inefficient operations, lack of innovation, poor customer satisfaction, toxic workplace culture
may be due to the leader rather than an employee.
Once, you, as the leader, can shift their perception and outlook on the mindset of how your company operates, placing blame on yourself (which can be communicated, or just internalized), then a shift on the performance of your business, operation, financials, and management empowerment will shift for the better.
Things you can do as a leader, today, to improve your team's performance.

1. Communicate
Re-communicate with your team values, as well as, expectations for work if you have not done so. Give them specific date deadlines for deliverables.

2. Begin to foster a collaborative environment
Truly embody feedback that is given to you. Understand that employees are likely scared to speak up to their boss; therefore you might not have the knowledge of what you may be doing wrong. Begin to empower your team to take independent action, if it aligns with the mission and core values of your organization.

3. Empower your teams
Foster success in your organization by allowing your employees to take initiatives, on their own, for things that help the organization overall. If you don't want to wait for results or may have lazy employees, they may not be empowered to take the initiative.

Ask yourself? Are these things that can be done today? The answer that you come up with is likely: yes. Now it's time to execute.
